In USA Today's article "Study: Doctors out of sync with cancer patients' wishes" by Liz Szabo on January 22, 2007, a difference is pointed out. In a new study done by 2007 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium, shows that docotors are not on the same page when it comes to the willingness of their cancer patients to endure harmful treatments. Chemotherapy can cause diarrhea nasuea and crushing fatigue as well as hair loss. Most patients are unwillling to go through the dangerous experimental treatments for curing or atleast slwoing down the disease. According to the article, many doctors assume that their patients will be willing to undergo anything to help fight their diesase.
This article shows that docotors are out of sync with the feelings of their patients and that they should realize that not everyone is ready to undergo big life changing experiments in search of a medical maricle because of the harmful effects that could come of it.
