In the article "Armostrong still fighting strong" published by USA Today on January 21st 2007, Liz Szabo explains the latest actions and thoughts of the cancer survivor, Lance Armstrong. According to Sizabo, Armstrong wants cancer to become a political priority.
Armstrong states "The people who want to be President in 2008 should talk about something that kills 600,000 Americans a year."
He has already met with many of the would be candidates and has contacted the current President through e-mail trying to emphasize the problem at hand. Armstrong's sucessful foundation, The Lance Armstrong Fountdation, has already raised 163 million dollars through the livestrong bracelets and other such items.
Armostrong, who survied cancer 10 years ago, argues that the country must protect itself from tobacco by saying "every public place in the country should be made smoke free immediately."
