"U.N. Says Global AIDS Effort for Children Falls Far Short" summary
In the article "U.N. Says Global AIDS Effort for Children Falls Far Short", posted by The New Yourk Times on January 17 2007, the Global fight against AIDS and its insufficent support is addressed. The article explains that more programs and awareness can be found and are being developed but that the overall response to the problem is entirely too little. The article goes on to explain that leading reasons for children not being able to obtain treatment and prevention help is due to the ability to detect the disease in the children, the affordabilty of the drugs for the poorer countries and whether the drugs were safe for the children. The article is an important one to the topic because it shows the severity of the problem and the need for change and support.
