In the article "Blair, Bono Helping Africa at Forum", published by the New York Times on January 26 2007, the British Prime Minister and U2's singer get together in Switzerland to advocate countries to keep funding money to aid Africa with their vast AIDS problem. They also urged companies to do the same. Bono has been very involved in the fight against AIDS and has helped raise large amounts of money from all over the world through his fame and from his fans. Blair has also been a big advocate in the fight agaisnt AIDS and both man agreed that now is the time for action and support in the fight against AIDS and the problems in Africa.
This article is important because it shows the impact that famous people and leaders have on getting the word out and the ball rolling just like Lance Armstrong. I beleive that more money can be gained and the problem could be solved quicker if more famous and noteworthy people would step up and start speaking about the problem.
thank you goodnight and goodluck

Though it is great Blair and Bono are helping in the fight against AIDS, it saddens me that our own government does so little in the fight. The U.S. government constantly feels the need to interfere in the problems of other countries, yet is doing little to fight a worldwide epidemic. Does anyone else see something wrong with this?
